Brussels Soundmap

Brussels Soundmap is an acoustic mapping proposal. It was launched in October 2010 by the radio section of RITS under the name “My Favourite Brussels Sound”. This project consists in letting Brussels people record their favourite sound in the city, and then share it on an online map. This project has evolved; it is now handled by the radio section of RITS and BNA-BBOT. It aims to map the entire city in order to develop Brussels’s identity and acoustic landscape through spontaneous or thematic samplings, individual or collective , but always participative.
